Purpose of the Role

The Volunteer Bar Coordinator manages the setup, operation, and smooth running of the bar during events. They ensure excellent customer service, responsible alcohol handling, stock control, and coordination of bar volunteers. The role supports the organisation’s events programme and helps generate income in a safe, friendly, and well‑managed environment.

• Bar operations — Oversee the bar during events, ensuring efficient, friendly service and compliance with licensing rules.
• Volunteer coordination — Recruit, brief, schedule, and support bar volunteers.
• Stock management — Monitor stock levels, manage restocking, and maintain accurate records of usage and sales.
• Licensing compliance — Ensure all bar activity follows local licensing laws, age‑verification requirements, and organisational policies.
• Health & safety — Maintain safe working practices, including hygiene, spill management, and safe storage.
• Event support — Work with event organisers to plan bar requirements, staffing, and timings.
